So, you have chosen the style of heel you would like…but should you get plain or diamantes?! This is a question that we get asked ALOT…and you may not like our answer. This really is a personal preference decision overall. Which heel do you prefer the look of? There are a few things that can help you decide. But before we get into that, we have to clarify that the judges DO NOT CARE. They don’t have the time to look at your heels so they certainly aren’t judging you on them, or marking you down if they don’t sparkle under the stage lights. As long as you can confidently walk and pose in your heels, that is all the judges would consider.

Overall look

If you plan to wear earrings, bracelets & rings, on a small frame for example, you may decide that plain heels are the way to go. This may work better to ensure that you aren’t too sparkly that it becomes distracting. If you would like diamante heels then it may be a wise decision, in some cases, to take off one piece of jewellery. For example, wearing just one bracelet and one ring OR two bracelets and no ring. You could also reduce the sizes of your bracelets and rings, for example wearing a 2 row bracelet & 1 row ring. If you do not have diamante connectors on your bikini then you are already reducing the sparkle there too. These are not rules and do not neccessarily apply to all competitors. Those with more muscle can often ‘get away’ with having more jewellery & overall sparkle.

Crystal choices

Different heels have different crystals within them. Our DM heels have AB crystals which reflect the light in multiple colours. Our SDT heels have regular silver/colourless crystals. The Elegant and TSF heels (Goddess, Roxie, Iconic) all have regular crystals too. So, why does this matter? If your bikini or connectors contain AB crystals then a DM heel would pair nicely. The same goes for TSF & SDT heels with a bikini/connectors containing regular crystals. Now, this again is not something that you do not have to consider but it is an option.

Budget

This is a very important thing to consider. What is your budget? Heels with diamantes do cost more. If they are outside of your budget then do not feel obliged to order them. Choose the heels that you can afford, you can always order a diamante version at a later date and save the plain ones for posing practice.

We are aware that this blog doesn’t really give you an answer if you are torn between heels, however we hope that it makes it a little easier to decide. Remember, the most important thing is choosing the correct style and size of heel. Ensuring that your heel fits well & helps rather than hinders your posing is the main focus.
