Getting all glam is one of the most exciting parts of show day!, right?
So you have worked your glutes off to create the perfect physique, you have the bikini of your dreams ready to go, your KOMPAK heels and jewelry in tow…Now you just need to book your hair and makeup! When it comes to the show day glow up, you have a few options if you aren’t doing it yourself. First of all, you have to decide whether you would like your hair and makeup, just hair or just makeup done. This may impact your decision on who to book with , particularly if you are looking for both as you can potentially get them done in one appointment rather than travelling to two separate places…Anything to save added stress on show day, right?
Some shows will have affiliated Hair and MUA teams that will be working on site at the venue. These can normally be booked directly through the federations website. This can be useful as you know where to go and you will be at the venue nice and early.
Another option is to book with a freelance MUA. Freelance MUAs tend to carry out appointments in a hotel close to the venue. This allows you more freedom to choose exactly who will be doing your makeup as they normally work as individuals rather than a team, so you can check out their work beforehand to get ideas and inspiration! Again, some will offer both hair and makeup, some will offer makeup only.
Either way, you are putting your trust into a make up artist to create the perfect look that ties your whole package together and makes you feel like a million dollars. But it can be overwhelming scrolling through instagram searching for trusted MUAs on top of everything else you have to organise, right? …Don’t worry, we got you girl!
