Show Day Nails Advice
At this point you may have chosen your bikini colour, hairstyle, heels etc & now you are onto the final touches…so, lets talk nails. There’s so many options when it comes to show day nails. You have to choose the colour, shape, style, application process etc!
Lets start with colour…
Some girls choose to match their nails to their bikini colour. Some girls prefer a simple french manicure. Neither is right or wrong, go with what makes you feel best! We would say that lighter colours may ‘flow’ better, however if black is your colour that makes you feel good, then go with black my girl!
Application…
Here we also have plenty of options:
You can go to a salon and get your nails done with acrylic, gel or similar. The salon can add extensions too if you want longer nails. Speak to the nail technician to see what style will be best for you as this can vary from person to person. Remember if you’re not used to waiting nails you might not want to go too long as it will make it harder to do things on peak week and show day!
You could paint your nails at home. Maybe you already have great nails and a coat of polish is all you need! You can also buy simple gel polish kits for an easy at home manicure.
Stick on nails are cheap and also a perfect option if you only want your nails done for show day! Lets say you cant have your nails done for work or you simply don’t like them, then glue on nails are a quick, cheap and easily removable option.
Some girls don’t have their nails done at all. Again, if this is what makes you feel best then that works too.
Shape
I’m no nail tech, but I know there’s lot’s of options here such as square, coffin, stiletto, almond etc. A quick google search will show you all of the different options to choose from and a nail tech can also help you choose which ones feel most like ‘you’.
Remember, the judges/audience won’t be able to tell how your nails are done & its definitely not what they are focusing on either. You may be able to see them in pictures though. So choose something that you love!
